Privacy Policy
Mochi Studio ("we", "us", "our") built the What to Eat mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app and services. By using What to Eat, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Restaurant lists and favorites — restaurants you save, rate, or mark as visited.
- Location data — with your permission, we use your location to show nearby restaurants. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — how you interact with the app (e.g. how often you shake, which features you use), collected in aggregate and anonymized form.
- Crash reports — anonymized diagnostic data to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
- Device information — operating system version and device model, used for compatibility and debugging.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the What to Eat app.
- Personalize your restaurant recommendations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your restaurant lists and preferences are stored locally on your device. When you choose to back up or sync data, it is transmitted securely over HTTPS. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
4. Third-Party Services
What to Eat may use third-party services that collect information used to identify you. These third-party services have their own privacy policies governing how they use such information. We use:
